Meet Selkirk King Bobbie, our Selkirk Rex stud
Bobbie, officially Selkirk King Bobbie, is our Selkirk Rex stud. He was born on 25 November 2019 in Hungary and is registered with TICA. He is a Selkirk Rex Longhair with a curly coat (heterozygous curly).
Colour and genetics
According to his pedigree, Bobbie’s colour is ny 22: black golden classic tabby. However, a later DNA test found none of the known gold genes (Gold: N/N), so genetically he does not appear to be golden. His DNA test shows that he carries non-agouti (A/a, the gene for a solid colour without a tabby pattern), colourpoint (C/cs) and dilution (D/d, which gives lighter colours such as blue). Combined with the right partner, he can therefore give kittens in solid colours, with points, or in dilute colours. Also we believe that he might be silver (I/i) but we can’t proof this with a test.

Health
- PKD (polycystic kidney disease) DNA test: N/N, so free of PKD
- HCM heart scan (echo): good
- FeLV (feline leukaemia) and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus): negative
- Blood group: A
- DNA panel: clear of, among others, ALPS, AMD, CMS, cystinuria, factor XI and XII deficiency, GM1 and Burmese head defect
