Hugo

Hugo is a little boy, born on 23 May 2026, so now about 20 weeks (almost five months) old. His mother Ezra and his father Punk are both Selkirk Rex, so Hugo is a Selkirk Rex. Both parents have an official pedigree. He is a Selkirk Rex Longhair.

Hugo is cream with white: a soft, light cream colour with white areas. His semi-long coat is curly, like a Selkirk Rex. He has one curl gene (heterozygous curl), so he can have both curly and smooth kittens. He carries the gene for the colour chocolate twice. You cannot see it in him, but he always passes on chocolate or lilac (dilute chocolate) to his kittens. He will probably have green eyes. Both of his parents carry the gene for odd eyes (heterochromia): two different eye colours. That gives Hugo a 50% chance of carrying it too and passing it on to his kittens. This is the recessive form of odd eyes (heterochromia), not the dominant form called DBE (dominant blue eye).

Hugo is not neutered. He has had three vaccinations: two against cat flu and feline panleukopenia (cat distemper), and at 12 weeks another one against cat flu and feline panleukopenia (cat distemper) plus rabies.

His parents have been DNA-tested for hereditary diseases: his father for 38 conditions and his mother for 28. His father is clear of all of them. His mother is also clear, except that she is a carrier of one condition: a congenital thyroid problem (congenital hypothyroidism). A carrier does not become ill from it herself. Mother and father have both tested negative for the viral diseases FeLV (feline leukaemia) and FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus). Both have also had a heart ultrasound (echocardiogram) and a kidney ultrasound, which showed no sign of the hereditary heart disease HCM or of polycystic kidney disease (PKD).

Price as a breeding cat (with TICA pedigree and FeLV/FIV-negative parents): €2500. The buyer receives all necessary breeding documents: the health test results of both parents and any tests done on the cat itself.
